Bambusa nepalensis

Roni bari Garden, Kathmandu, Nepal
[Distribution]@From east to western Tansen in Nepal
[Local name]@ tama bansAphusre bans in Nepal

Typical Nepalese bamboo, cultivating widely in eastern to western regions.
Clump forming, at 20m in height and 10cm in diameter for large bamboo.
Straight culm and high clear length of culm.
Not much branches, but large size in the middle part of culm.
Slightly blacky culm with somewhat large sized leaves.

It seems to be not difficult to propagate by culm cutting.
Sometimes flowering individually and seedlings are nursed.
It is used for knitting materials as easily splitting.
I have had my impression to be wonderful shape and useful species.
