 Kyoto Rakusai Bamboo Park |
"Unmon" means shape of clouds, because "Unmon-chiku" means the bamboo which has several spots
shaped clouds on culm surface.
This cloud can be seen like a shape of small whirlpool which is 2-5cm in diameter and
very rare bamboo.
This is one type of Phy. nigra henonis, because culm size is similar with it.
There are a few cultivation areas around Kyoto and Hyogo Prefectures.
Culm is prized as the materials for making bamboo art handicrafts.
