One of mutation types of Phyllostachys bambusoides, diameter 3-8cm. There are green stripes alternately in each node on golden colored culm, that is verybaeutiful. Especially, culm is really beautiful just after culm sheath was fallen out. There are a few yellow stripes on leaf but not conspicuous. This is rare species but wonderful for ornamental plantation in garden and park. This bamboo growing in Kaga city, Asakura-gun, Fukuoka Prefecture and Seta-gun, Gunma Prefecture is also designated to be Natural Monument by the government. |
