Large size bamboo, diameter 13cm, height 24m, one of three important species in Japan. Culm is straight, really green color and smooth nodes, green color of young culm in particular. Due to very useful, it is widly cultivated whole in Japan. There are many black spots on culm shreath, but no hair on surface. Because this culm sheath is important to rapping material for meat, rice ball, and others. Quality of culm material is very good for construction materials and handicrafts. Most famous traditional bamboo products are made by this bamboo, such as basckets, paper umbrella, fan, allow, paper lantern and others those which are designated as National Traditional Handicrafts. |
