"Kinmei" means that a green stripe appears on golden colored culm. That is because this is golden color with green striped bamboo. Really baeutiful in its color. One of mutation type of Phyllostachys pubescens, very rare type which is admirable as wonderful color and big size! Very important bamboo for ornamental plantation in garden and park. Now, there are some bamboo plant shops to nurse it and sell in Japan. In Kurume chity, Fukuoka Prefecture and Higashiusuki, Miyazaki Prefecture, this bamboo is designated as Natural Monument by Japan Government. |
