"Suo" means the name of tropical tree which is Caesaplinia sappan growing in India and Malaysia. It is said that the color of young culm is similar to that of this tree stem. Tropical bamboo to form clump, but middle size in about 2cm in diameter and 5m in height. Culm is all yellowish and existing green stripes, which is wonderful color. It might be introduced from China and it is ornamentally planted at warm part in Japan. |
