"Hotei" means the name of famous monk in old era who had very fat in his abdomen. The distinctive feature is to swell out in some internodes at lower part of culm. Size is like 2-5cm in diameter, 5-12m in height. Widly planted in the gardens of civil houses as adomiring its interested form. This is used for making fishing rod due to easily hold it. Untill some tens years ago, fishing rods made by this species were a star for obtaining foreign currency. |
